Common faults of PCR

The problems of primary charge roller are mainly concentrated in the following aspects:


Problems in physical dimensions

1. Burrs on the film sleeve of the charging roller

The main reason: the resistance of the burrs is too high, which causes charging failure, and there are small black spots in the charging roller cycle.


Prevention method: Increase the inspection efforts during the production process and adopt full appearance inspection.


2. Poor straightness

Main reasons: sponge crushing, film sleeve crushing, and film sleeve scratches.


Prevention method: Strengthen protection during transportation and wear gloves when taking the electric baton.


Problems in electrical performance


1. The resistance of the charging roller surface and the OPC Drum contact surface is uneven.

Main reason: The line resistance of the charging roller surface is too different, causing uneven charging potential on the OPC Drum surface.

Prevention method: Strengthen technical control in the production process.


2. The resistance is too low, and there is a pinhole effect.

Main reason: Due to the low surface resistance of the charging roller, when there is a broken point (pinhole) on the surface of the OPC Drum drum, 

the charge on the broken point line is conducted away by the broken point, causing the black line of the printed sample to be unable to be charged. 

Due to the precision processing of the OPC Drum drum base and uneven coating, it will also cause the breakdown of the good OPC Drum.

Prevention method: Select high-quality OPC Drum (anodized), production links, and process control.


3. Resistance is too high, black spots, and bottom ash.

Main reason: Due to the high resistance of the charging roller, the OPC Drum is not charged enough, and the OPC Drum charging potential is low, causing 

black and white spots and bottom ash.

Prevention method: Select the charging roller corresponding to the model. Since the printer charging voltage is not used, different models of printers should 

use PCRs with different resistances to achieve the best effect and the best suitability.


4. The sensitivity of the roller resistance to temperature and humidity.

The six major accessories of the toner cartridge assembly will be affected by temperature and humidity. Generally speaking, resistance will rise at low 

temperature and low humidity, and will drop at high temperature and high humidity. The changes of PCR at high temperature and high humidity and low 

temperature and low humidity are very stable. Through years of experiments, the company can produce PCR products with resistance drop at high temperature 

and high humidity and resistance drop at low temperature and low humidity. To meet the different needs of customers.


Chemical properties


1. Conductive substances precipitate and pollute OPC Drum.

Conductive materials are added to the charging roller during the production of conductivity. The main conductive materials are carbon black and ion conductive 

materials. Ion conductive materials are easy to precipitate and pollute OPC Drum in polymer materials. The conductive materials used do not precipitate and will 

not cause pollution. After years of customer use, it has been proven that there is no pollution.


2. Other materials precipitate and affect the electrical properties of PCR.

Other materials added during the modification of the charging roller film cover may precipitate during the production and storage process, affecting the 

conductive properties and physical properties of PCR and causing defects. No other materials are added during the production of the film cover, thereby 

maintaining the stability of the film cover and the stability of other physical properties.


As for the charging roller, its main function is to evenly distribute a layer of charge on the drum core. The amount of charge on the surface of the drum core is 

mainly determined by the chargeable voltage of the drum core. The amount of charge is determined by the drum core, and whether the charge is sufficient is 

determined by the charging roller.
