OKI Error 231-05, 231-06, 231-07 and 231-08

This error occurs when this machine is unable to read information from consumables and maintenance products.

Try the following solutions.

For "231: Error: 05", "231: Error: 06", "231: Error: 07", "231: Error 08":

Turn off this machine and check in the following order.

Step 1 Check the installed toner cartridge

When An error occurs after changing the toner cartridge, it is possible that the toner cartridge is not compatible with this machine.

1. Press the open button (3) and open the output tray (4).

2. Check "Model" on the label of your toner cartridge that has been installed in this machine. Toner cartridge position

3. Check the "Model" of the toner cartridge, it must be compatible with this machine, via the link below.

4. Replace the toner cartridge with one that is compatible if it is not compatible with this machine.
   
   Go to "Step 2. Check that the image drum is installed correctly."

The installation position may have been moved slightly.

1. Remove the image drum from this machine, and reinstall it. Readjust the image drum

2. Turn on this machine and check if the error is gone. If it has not disappeared, please contact our customer service center.

For "231: Error 23":

Check the contact part between the fuser unit and the tape unit.

Turn off this machine and check in the following order.

Step 1 Check the part that contacts the fuser unit

The part that makes contact with the fuser unit may be dirty.

1. Insert your finger in the hole on the right side of the printer and pull the Front cover opening lever (1) to open the cover front (2) forward.

2. Press the exit tray open button (3) and open the output tray (4).

3. Pull the left locking lever (5) of the fuser forward to unlock it. Note

4. Since the fuser can become hot, use caution during operation and always hold the handle to lift. If it's hot, wait for it to cool down before you start working.

5. Grasp the fuser by the handle (6) and lift it out of the printer. Note

6. Be careful not to touch the LED head when removing or installing the fuser.

7. Place it on a flat surface in the following direction.

8. Wipe the contact part (a long piece of metal) with a soft, dry cloth 5 times if it is dirty. Note Wait until the fuser unit cools down before any operation if it is too hot.

9. Install the fuser by holding the handle on the machine.

10. Push the left locking lever (5) of the fuser back to lock it.

Go to "Step 2. Check the part that contacts the tape unit."

The position part of the fuser unit may be dirty.

1. Remove the four image drums from the printer and place them on a flat surface. Note

2. Use extra care when handling the image drum (the green cylinder), as it is fragile.

3. Cover the image drums you have removed with paper so that they are not exposed to light.

4. Turn the blue locks (5) on the sides of the drag belt in the direction of the arrow to unlock it.

5. Remove the drag belt by grasping it by the blue lever (6).

6. Place it on a flat surface covered with a journal or something similar in the following direction.

7. Wipe the contact part (a long piece of metal) with a soft, dry cloth 5 times if it is dirty.

8. Hold the handle of the new drag belt with one hand and support the part lower on the other hand. Place the drag belt on the printer.

9. Lower the handle side of the belt unit and set the conveyor belt to the machine.

10. Turn the blue locks (5) on the sides of the drag belt in the direction of the arrow. Note Don't forget to turn the buttons and lock the belt drive. If you do not turn the knobs to lock the tape unit, the image drum cannot be positioned properly.

11. Place the four image drums back into the printer.

12. Close the output tray (4) by pressing firmly into the center of the output tray. Memorandum When closing the output tray, closing the front cover slightly makes it softer. The front cover can be opened and the output tray can come out.

13. Close the front cover (2). Note The front cover cannot be closed if the outlet tray is not closed securely.
