How to determine whether there are problems with the quality of toner?

The following methods can be used to determine whether there are problems with the quality of toner:

Appearance Observation
In terms of color: High-quality toner usually has pure and uniform colors. For example, black toner should present a pure black color without any variegated or off-color situations. If the toner color is grayish, dull, or there are obvious foreign colors mixed in, it is very likely that the quality is poor.
In terms of form: Normal toner particles are fine and uniform, in a loose powder form. When gently rubbed by hand, it feels relatively fine and smooth without obvious caking phenomena. If it is found that the toner has caking, uneven particle sizes or the presence of coarse particles, there is a high probability that there is a problem with the quality. For example, toner that has absorbed moisture is prone to caking.

Printing Effect Inspection
Text clarity: When using this toner to print text content, observe whether the edges of the text are clear and sharp. High-quality toner prints text with distinct strokes, clean and neat, without phenomena such as blurring, ghosting, or burrs. However, low-quality toner may lead to poor text printing effects due to reasons such as uneven particles, which will affect readability.
Image color performance: When printing color pictures or documents containing color elements, check the color reproduction accuracy. High-quality toner can accurately reproduce the original colors of the image, with natural and vivid color transitions. However, if the toner quality is poor, there may be color deviations and uneven colors. For example, there may be color patches of different shades in the same color area, causing the printed image to be distorted.
Uniformity: Check the overall uniformity of the printed page and whether there are defects such as streaks and spots. Qualified toner can be evenly distributed during the processes such as adsorption and transfer by the magnetic roller, so that the overall tone of the printed page is consistent. Low-quality toner is prone to uneven powder coating, and then leaves streaks or spots of different shades on the printed page.

Stability Consideration
Continuous printing performance: Conduct a continuous multi-page printing task and observe the performance of the toner throughout the process. High-quality toner can maintain a stable powder output state, and the printing quality of each page is relatively consistent. However, low-quality toner may have an inconsistent performance during continuous printing. For example, the first few pages may print normally, but then problems such as fading colors and uneven powder coating may start to appear.
Performance after storage: Place the toner for a period of time (for example, several months) and then use it again, and observe whether there are obvious changes in its printing effect. High-quality toner can still maintain stable performance under reasonable storage conditions and will not easily have problems such as moisture absorption, caking, and a decline in printing quality caused by storage. However, low-quality toner may have various quality problems after being stored for a period of time due to its insufficient stability, which will affect printing.

Compatibility Test
Compatibility with the printer: Check whether the toner can work normally on the corresponding printer and whether there are abnormal phenomena such as paper jams and error messages. High-quality toner has good compatibility with the printer and can smoothly complete all processes inside the printer to ensure smooth printing. However, toner with quality problems may be incompatible with some internal components of the printer, resulting in frequent fault prompts on the printer and even making it unable to print normally.

By comprehensively judging from the above multiple aspects, a relatively accurate understanding of whether there are problems with the toner quality can be obtained.
